Frequently asked questions

Some questions and answers are automatically generated.

Can you taste the flavour under the heat?
Yes. Reviewers note that despite the extreme heat, the sauce has a layered, balanced flavour where you can taste all the ingredients, including the distinct Carolina Reaper taste. One regular user describes it as 'fantastic and layered' with flavour that comes through before the heat takes over.
How much should I use per serving?
The sauce is potent—reviewers mention you only need a small amount to cut through food effectively. One customer notes it has a 'strong, punchy taste,' so a little goes a long way.
Is this sauce only for extreme heat lovers?
Reviewers confirm this is intended for serious chilli-heads. While one customer notes it 'packs a solid level of heat, maybe a bit much for non-chilli heads,' they also mention that over time you can get used to the Reaper flavour. It's an extreme heat product meant for experienced hot sauce enthusiasts.
What foods pair well with this sauce?
Reviewers have tried it on red spaghetti and chicken with good results. One customer eats it solo straight from the bottle for the heat experience, so it's versatile enough to work as a cooking ingredient or a standalone condiment.
Is this properly fermented?
Yes. A reviewer specifically mentions it is 'properly fermented like a good chilli sauce should be, without all the water and additives you find in supermarket brands,' which aligns with the product description's fermented preparation method.

Fermented Fire with Bold Reaper Flavour

Great range of chilli sauces — this one’s definitely up there in terms of taste and quality, easily among the top chilli sauces in Australia. It packs a solid level of heat (maybe a bit much for non-chilli heads) and has that classic Carolina Reaper flavour with its distinct burn.

The Reaper has a strong, punchy taste, so you only need a little to cut through your food. It’s great to have a bottle like this on hand for a quick capsaicin hit. Goes really well with red spaghetti — I’ve also tried it on chicken, and it worked nicely.

It might not be the tastiest in the range, but it more than makes up for it in heat. Personally, I don’t think the Reaper is the best-tasting chilli, but over time I’ve gotten more used to the flavour.

Highly recommend any of the sauces from these guys — absolute top notch. Properly fermented like a good chilli sauce should be, without all the water and additives you find in supermarket brands. Plus, it’s low in calories, so you can load up if you’re keen.

Fantastic Hot Sauce

I eat hot sauces every evening in my shed for fun just as they are. And the Reap What You Sow is an absolute fantastic and layered hot sauce. Yes, it’s hot but you can actually taste all the ingredients. Very well done and grows to a favourite.
